Mad for Solar Power
Whether you are concerned about the environment and therefore wish to reduce your carbon footprint or are simply looking for ways to save money within the home, looking at your energy bills is a great place to start.

There are many ways we, as individuals, can do our part to save energy and help the environment from simply using recyclables to building solar powered homes. While many people think of powering their homes with green energy as a major step, it’s actually one of the easiest ways to have a huge impact on global warming and the environment.
Millions of dollars have been spent for development of alternative power and still in developing new means of vehicle impulsion, that too with good reason. The automobile industry is underneath an increasing pressure to cut down pollution by developing eco-friendly cars. …

Of all the green cars around in the world today, there’s really only one that can lay claim to being the greenest of the lot and that’s the Honda Civic GX. The Honda Civic GX is powered by natural gas and was voted “Greenest Car of 2011” by the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy.
A Hybrid car is an automobile that uses a combination of at least two unlike fuel sources for its impulsion. Even though many combinations can be possible, normally when people are discussing about hybrid cars, they are referring to cars with the combination of either an electric motor, or a gasoline engine, or a battery that influences the electric motor and stores energy for future use.
A home wind turbine can replace regular energy sources with a greener and more renewable energy. A turbine can power everything from your range to your garage door opener, yet the turbine will only replace part of your home energy usage. Solar panels have been the fad for the last 10 years or so, but [...]
Hydroelectric power is one of the world’s oldest methods of power production. I would venture to guess that Johnny Caveman slapped some stiff leaves or bark on a stick and placed it into a moving river or stream. The power of the water would then rotate the stick, crushing the grain that they used to [...]
The ability to process wood, plants, agricultural and organic waste points to biomass as an alternative energy source is the future especially since the fuel is readily available but the technology is still a work in progress. The ability to recycle animal waste and the tons of trash now hauled to landfills is the driving force behind predictions of increasing use of biomass as an alternative energy source. Processing waste is a huge business and increased need for acres of land to use as landfills is meeting more public resistance today.
Biomass as an alternative energy source shows great potential for the future and could help replace fossil fuels that will be unavailable at some point. Before turning to biomass as an alternative energy source to be widely used, we must understand the process and address any unforeseen issues that might be involved.
Here is a short video montage featuring some of the many new Wind Farms in Nova Scotia. More photos, an online web map and info about these wind mills such as the wind farm at Glen Dhu, Pictou County and other Wind Mills in Canada will be posted to the site.
Here is a fun post that I thought deserved a bump!
In this video is a set of stairs beside a very busy elevator that they is converted into a fun musical set of stairs that people can have fun with as they climb to the top. As people us the stairs more then the escalator will be used less thus saving energy.
