Plastics are ubiquitous in everyday life; they are used to produce grocery bags, bottles, coffee cups, candy wrappers, toys and many other common everyday products. Most people are unaware of danger of plastic and the harmful effect that it has on our environment. I got a request today to share this article titled “8 Green Reasons to Shop Online”. Now this is an interesting topic because it could be argued either way. Shopping online does prevent you from driving to the store, yet the item still needs to get shipped to you, so in reality energy is still used and pollustion is still generated. So we are happy to spend a few dollars every day to make our kids have better air to breathe, we can not control the air outside, but certainly can make an effort to make the air in our home safer. Over the past few years we have done such a great job promoting recycling programs, that we have all just simply grown accustomed to using non refillable plastic bottles for all most everything we drink and you would be surprised to learn that thousands of plastic bottles still end up in our land fills everyday. A good ecofriendly alternative to using disposable plastic bottles is to find yourself a good durable refillable one and make a habit of using the same bottle.
