If you’re looking to adopt a more environmentally friendly way of driving, then there’s a simple idea that could drastically reduce the amount of emissions your journeys create and save the amount of money you spend on fuel. Drive like you’re riding a bike.
Although there are government incentives across the world for the increase in the numbers of electric vehicles there has still been a limited uptake by the general population. Electric vehicles still cost more than conventional petrol or diesel cars and hybrid cars because of the extra cost of their lithium-ion battery packs. But in the same way as prices of hybrids such as the Toyota Prius or the Honda Insight fell, the prices of electric models are reducing as these battery packs are produced on a bigger scale, and are expected to continue falling.
A Hybrid car is an automobile that uses a combination of at least two unlike fuel sources for its impulsion. Even though many combinations can be possible, normally when people are discussing about hybrid cars, they are referring to cars with the combination of either an electric motor, or a gasoline engine, or a battery that influences the electric motor and stores energy for future use.
It is great to see some the big car manufacturers finally starting to see the light and begin to produce cars that are much more environmentally friendly then they have been building over the past few years. And I am sure if you have been following our blog then you may have noticed that we have become a bit of a fan with the Nissan electric car known as the LEAF. So, today I thought we would compare the popular American built Chevy Volt with the Nissan LEAF to see how they match up against one another.
See how people are reacting in this follow up post to Yesterdays, launch of the new Nissan LEAF “Fully Electric car” in the UK, some say it is comparable to turning back time thirty years to 1979 when gasoline costs were around £1 per gallon.
I had a video and press release submitted to me that I thought may interest many of you – This video features the world’s most energy efficient car carrier (transport ship) bringing over the first new shipment of the zero emission Nissan Leafs.
So check out this cool feature and check back for other posts here on the site containing more information about one of the coolest new Energy Efficient cars.
In a recent study done by the Goddard Institute for Space Studies, they identified one of the largest overall contributing sources to global warming was road transportation. Cars, trucks and buses are all major contributors as they release greenhouse gases and various other pollutants that promote warming while also not emitting enough aerosols to counteract it. So in other words, the more vehicles on the roadways, then the worse the problem of global warming is going to be.

Looks like there are more positive reasons to drive a fuel efficient car like a Toyota Prius or a Honda Hybrid Civic. Not only will you get more mileage, save money on fuel costs and help reduce your carbon footprint on the environment, but you can now also get to use some of the prime reserved parking spots.
Find out how companies are helping us reach lower C02 Emissions. People like Nikki Rourke from the SMMT, Peter Fouquet, the President of Bosch UK and John Kingston from Honda, discuss how companies are investing to help us reach our CO2 2015 reduction targets under the Kyoto Protocol, along with what additional benefits you will reap from greener cars.
I would hope that by now, people would realize that driving cars is one of the most leading causes of greenhouse gases because of all the toxic emissions they produce, but most people still don’t seem to understand. Regular automobiles burn fossil fuels in order to keep the engine running and produce energy to get you from one place to another, but there are alternative ways to reduce the toxic emissions that cars produce, one example is “The Electric Car”.
