The World Wildlife Fund has long recognised that the best way for the public – especially those far-removed from the rainforest – to engage with the problems facing the environment is to associate it with a particular animal. The panda, for instance, is synonymous with the organisation, an appealing icon of the good work done in the name of preserving our planet for future generations.
It’s time to turn down the heat, and turn up your sweater. On February 9, 2012 WWF is asking Canadians all across the country to unite together to put on an extra sweater and turn down the thermostats, to increase action on climate change. Help Celebrate National Sweater Day
On Saturday, March 27 at 8:30 – 9:30 p.m. EST, join WWF and hundreds of millions of individuals from around the world and turn off your lights for one hour to help demonstrate that even small acts can add up to make a big difference.
